At anytime in a hunt it is possible to pat on the swap button to change to your own other weapons. Some creatures are competitive, like the bears. In case you do not kill them in one-shot, they will run right for you! Change to your own shotgun, to allow them to get extremely close, wait, then let 'em have it.
