Try to prioritise your targets, a good strategy is to take out aliens with guns before you attack the slow-moving zombies.

If you need money for upgrades you can always shoot the scenery as some of the crates and boxes contain cash.

When you do not use them your weapons will reload so switch out to keep firing.
