You can shoot a chicken out of the air with a fire arrow once you have reached the Valley Farmstead base camp in Geothermal Valley. There are some chickens nearby you can chase and catch. Then, carry the chicken to a good area where you can throw it up in the air and shoot it with a fire arrow.
