One bothersome feature about the game are the brakes. Once you hit the brakes and come to a complete stop, you go in reverse and do not stop fast enough. This is bad if there is cop chasing you, or if you need to make a quick stop in an intersection. To brake effectively, without going into reverse, hold SQUARE + TRIANGLE. Your car will come to a completer stop, and the reverse light will only come on briefly.
