When fighting Captain Ginyu, he will dig underground most of the time and attacks from underneath. To avoid this, get up in the air and stay there; Captain Ginyu cannot fly. When you are up in the air, you can charge your Ki or a special move then keep launching attacks at him. He should be defeated after a while.
