If you remain idle whenever you find yourself in a position where you can't find an easy match, the game after a few seconds will highlight the best match to make at that moment. However, if it's just a simple three-piece match that comes up during one of the tougher levels you will find it more beneficial if you try and seek out a four- or five-piece match instead.
