Match three lionhead coins to earn a Midas Touch. You can use a Midas Touch to turn one tile into gold instantly. Midas Touches cannot be brought into the next level. Use them before the current level ends.

Power-ups can help you pass difficult levels. You can use Gold Dust to turns all surrounding tiles gold or keys that open up a few random locked tiles.

Match three or more gems in a row or column and the sand tiles beneath those gems will turn to gold. You must turn the entire level gold before you can advance. Locked tiles cannot be turned into gold until they are unlocked by matching three key tiles. Some levels require that you to fit some gems into their matching slots. The gem to be slotted must be adjacent to the slot before it can be swiped in. Other levels will require resource jewels to be collected. Drop resource jewels to the bottom of the screen to collect them. The coins earned by playing can be used to purchase power-ups and relics.
