Obstacles
Water puddles, oil slicks, and other obstacles can slow you down. They will remain in the same location for the duration of the race. Make sure you avoid them in each lap.
Power-ups
At certain points during a race, you can collect various power-ups. These include the grip bonus, super bonus (allows you to drive on grass without a penalty), or nitro bonus. Collect as many of them as possible. However, the bags of dollars are not worth the effort.
