Boosts
Do not bother spending records on boosts unless you will use them. The Groove boost increases the duration of the double scoring option and is your best purchase. The others are not very useful, however if you can use the Magnet or Sprint Solo, get them.
Scoring
Use headphones to hear better. This will help you get in the rhythm of the race. The pulsating green markers are important to score points. Slide, jump, etc. to avoid the obstacle as soon as you land on that green tile to get a "Perfect" bonus and more points.
