When playing this game as solo runner, focus on military buildings. Build T1 troops during your online time for resource gathering. They are the quickest to build. When going offline, put your main fleet on production. Focus on repair bay, add-ons and base defence. This nets you greater rewards from aliens. Neglect embassy. Focus on everything military.

As alliance member - Embassy should always be maxed first to help you build stuff quicker. Then aim for offence. You want to have strong troops to reinforce your allies as well as your own base.
