To defeat the jump guardian, you have to keep shooting at it. It jumps really high onto ledges and sometimes you lose sight of it. Find it right away and keep shooting it. It might also shoot lazers at you so quickly move out of the way from those (They push you out of the safe zone and cause damage). If you defeat the jump guardian, you will get the space jump boots.
