Once you obtain the Gernade Launcher and another set of ammo (Flame/Acid) goto the nearest Item Box and follow these easy steps:
1. Deposit all items.
2. Pull out your Gernade Launcher (Make sure it goes to the upper-left section).
3. Pull out a case of Gernade Rounds (Make sure it goes to the upper-right section).
4. Leave Item Box.
5. Equip Gernade Launcher.
6. Re-open Item Box and deposit the Rounds (Doesn't matter where).
7. Go to the left (into the Item Box) and press A twice on the Rounds.
The Gernade Launcher should still be in your inventory with 20 rounds. Exit the Item Box and check your inventory and it should read 240 now. To get 240 of other ammo, just swap the 240 rounds with another type and repeat all steps.
Circular Method For Knifing Zombies
This is a simple method to use (particularly in wider areas). Run around the Zombie (to get behind it) and slash it. You should not stand directly behind the Zombie, or it may turn around and (simultaneously) attack you.
Simply make sure that you are a safe distance away (and be careful). The Zombie which you are attacking will not be able to grab you if you maintain a slight distance (between you and it). If it tries to turn and grab you, a simple retreat will allow you to escape!
Easy Way To Avoid Neptunes (Small)
As Chris or Jill, when you reach the Aqua Ring Area (which is flooded), put away your weapon (unless that weapon is the Survival Knife) and run down the path to your character's immediate left! The Small Neptunes will not be able to catch you, nor will the large one!
Getting the Assualt Shotgun
As Jill (why doesn't Chris get things this easy?) as you go to fight Yawn the snake Richard will be found poisoned. You are to run and get him serum within 5 minutes or he will die. If you do get the serum to him in time he will simply rest. As you go to fight Yawn the snake he will try and eat Jill but Richard being the idiot he is will be eaten instead of fending the snake off. DO NOT leave the room. Show the snake your not afraid of him and blast him back into his hole. You will see Richard's assualt shotgun lying on the floor. It holds one more round than the regular shot gun but does twice the damage and has a quicker reload time as well as greater spread range.
Getting the shot gun at the start of the game
As Jill head immediately towrds the room that contains the shotgun after Barry speaks of investigating the mansion. Take the gun from the shelf and immediately run into the room with the collapsing ceiling. Try to open the door leading out. It will be locked and run back to the other door. Its now locked to. A cut scene will occur where Jill is screaming for help as Barry blasts the door and saves her. You get the shot gun there instead of having to progress without it. In tight situations you can now pack a little extra fire power.
Herb Mixing
Here is a list of the various Herb combinations that you can make:
Two-Herb Mixes:
Green + Green = Restores 50% of total health.
Green + Red = Completely replenishes health.
Green + Blue = Restores 25% of total health and eliminates poisons in the body.
Three-Herb Mixes:
Green + Green + Green = Completely replenishes health.
Green + Green + Blue = Restores 50% of total health and eliminates poisons in the body.
Green + Red + Blue = Brings your character to perfect health.
Hidden scenes
At the start of the game as Jill you and Barry are told to investigate. As you enter the dining room and Barry notices the blood head back toward Wesker. A message will mention you are supposed to investigate. Try to leave again and Barry will make the comment "Cold feet already Jill?" Talk to him again and Jill will automatically walk toward the clock and a door knob will be heard turning. Jill and Barry both turn in time to see a zombie come into the room and walk toward Jill. Barry will shoot it twice and kill it.
Immortal Wesker
As you descend to the underground lab as Chris, Lisa Trevor will appear and you and Wesker are to fend her off. Let her knock Wesker off the side of the platform and he is supposedly dead. But as you progress towards the end of the game Wesker is somehow still alive and Chris isn't making any comment towards how he survived the fall.
Invisible Enemies
Beat the game twice with Jill or Chris, to play with transparent enemies.
Kamikaze Zombie
Beat the game on normal or hard with both Chris and Jill to unlock sporadically appearing Kamikaze zombies, which must be avoided as they pursue you throughout the mansion. Destroying them will blow up the game.
Killing The Tyrant (First Encounter) With The Knife
This is a simple exercise for good players. When the battle starts run around all of the science equipment to get behind the Tyrant (do not head over to the door which leads out of this room). Once done, wait for him to move over to you and attempt an attack. As soon as you see him preparing to attack, run forward to avoid him and then run behind him. From
here, your only enemy will be the camera-angles. Run around him in circles, whilst slashing him!
Be sure to take full advantage of the periods of time where he actually stops moving altogether (but only stab him once at a time)...
Knifing Plant 42
If you want to save ammunition (even though I wouldn't suggest doing this), you can kill Plant 42 with the knife; rather than with a Shotgun (or other such weapon). You must slash the vines which it attacks you with (eg. the ones that release acid, the ones that slash at you). Slashing the final one or two vines is quite difficult, and you will undoubtedly lose a lot of health if you have trouble dodging Plant 42's attacks!
New costumes
Complete the game, then select the Once Again option. The key you have unlocks the door in the room on the second floor with the large mirror. There is a new costume inside for Jill or Chris. Beat the game again for yet another new costume.
Obtaining Barry's 44 Magnum
When you are playing as Jill and you reach the Mansion Altar, after watching the cut-scene, you will have the option of either giving Barry his gun, or holding onto it. If you hold onto it, Lisa will kill Barry, and you will keep his 44 Magnum. This is the strongest standard weapon in the game (obviously weaker than the Rocket Launchers). One shot will bring down the Tyrant in the Tyrant Room!
Real survivor mode
Complete the game on 'hard' mode as either jill or chris and rescue the two people within the game for either character.
For Chris: Jill & Rebecca
For Jill: Chris & Barry
Doing so will unlock the 'Real Surviver Mode' which allows you to play the game without the storage box moving (your items will stay in the box you put them in and not move throughout the game) and also there will be no auto aim against enemies (you will have to manually turn to aim at zombies, dogs etc. It is also assumed that you get damaged more in this mode aswell... Goodluck.
Real Survivor Mode
Beat the Once Again game in 5 hours or less, and unlock Real Survivor mode, which starts you with manual aiming, an unlimited handgun, and new costumes.
Retreating Method For Knifing Zombies
This is the second safest way to kill Zombies using the Knife in my opinion! Simply walk backwards as a Zombie is approaching you and stab its feet (simplest and safest approach) as you retreat. The best method is to stab it once, retreat and do it again. Practice this process regularly and try to incapacitate the Zombies quicker each time. It takes practice, but
perfecting this method will result in far less consumption of ammunition (works wonders in Hard Mode).
Try to avoid using this method in thin halls unless those halls are lengthy!
Samurai Edge
Beat the game in 5 hours or less, and select the Once Again option to start with the Samurai Edge weapon.
Separate Game-Files
A lot of people who play Resident Evil are not the biggest fans of the One Dangerous Zombie mode! I recommend that you isolate one save-slot for missions with Chris Refield, one save-slot for missions with Jill Valentine and then one save-slot for a file where you have activated this mode (One Dangerous Zombie)! Ultimately, you get a greater variety (seeing as you are not compelled to play a game with this mode activated whenever you load a saved game-file) of gameplay without having to start a new file altogether!
Special Features
Beat the game on Invisible Enemies mode in 5 hours or less to unlock special bonus features.
The Circular Method For Knifing Hunters
You can kill Hunters with the Survival Knife using the Circular Knifing Method, seeing that Hunters have a slow turn. You are likely to be slashed once or twice whilst using this method (though with continued practice, this will change). Basically, you run behind the Hunter that you wish to slash, and when it begins to turn begin 'walking' past it and then run behind it before it slashes you. You will have enough time to slash the Hunter and repeat this method. If you mess up and find yourself in a situation where the Hunter is chasing after you (and you cannot seem to outrun it), quickly aim downwards (at the Hunter) and stab it once and then quickly run straight past it (you may still get slashed).
The Ensnaring Method For Knifing Hunters
There is a surprisingly simple method (which only applies to some Hunters) for killing Hunters with the Survival Knife. I call this method the Ensnaring Method, seeing as you are luring the Hunter into a trap (not a physical one). In a narrow hallway, lure the Hunter over to you by slashing the air. Take aim (upwards and in the direction of the Hunter) and when it leaps at you, quickly slash it (slash at it immediately after seeing it begin its leap). Once done, run behind the Hunter and slash it again and then run further away from it (but not very far) and then repeat this method. Unless you stay too close to it after it turns around or you lead it to a less narrow path, this method will be foolproof (and you are guaranteed to escape this duel without injury). I managed to slash both Hunters in the Upper Dining Hall (on Hard Mode) using this method. I would suggest for beginners though, that you kill one of the Hunters quickly with the Assault Shotgun (or any other weapon of your choice) and kill the other one with the Survival Knife.
Unlimited Rocket Launcher
Beat the game in 3 hours or less, and select the Once Again option to start with the Unlimited Rocket Launcher.
Unlock Dangerous Zombie
Complete the game as both Cris and Jill to unlock the "One Dangerous Zombie" option. A special zombie will follow you and will follow you around the game and will end the game if you shoot it.
Watch Your Step
In the Guardhouse, when you walk past the Guardhouse Save Room, you will notice a nearby area with holes in the floor! Do not walk over them or one of Plant 42's vines will attack you! Push the lone box which is near the Double-Doors at the end of the hall over the hole in the floor which is in front of the boxes in that general area. From then until you defeat Plant 42, use the box staircase to get to the door beyond the holes in the floor!
