Stand on a flight of stairs and use the flute. Just before the duck picks you up, start to dash. Cancel out of the destination selection by pressing B. When you land, you should be running very fast. If you get hit by an enemy while running fast, run up a flight of stairs and you should be running fast again. When you switch to a different screen you will return to normal walking speed.
