To get the Life Sword upgrade, use the Sword, Wide Sword, and Long Sword chips at the same time. Before the battle starts, they will upgrade to a Life Sword, which does 400 damage and has the same effects as all of the swords used. You can still use other chips before or after the sword combo, as long as they have the same code.
