You do not have to be precise with your jumps. For example, with lava you can jump as soon as it begins rising. Even if you land while the lava is high, you will continue.
Stance
When your character leans lower than a 45 degree angle, it must be corrected or he will fall. Try to always keep balanced at a 90 to 45 degree angle.
