Switching back and forth between Battle Mode and Story Mode refills your MP when you are anywhere in Theia in story mode (not in a dungeon on Marble Blue). This allows you a quick way to refill MP without having to pay for it in Battle Mode. It's great if you need a fresh start for a tough battle, or if you want to use Battle Mode to raise levels.
