When you are out of fuel (and boost if you have the upgrade) and if your going downhill (not steep hill, but one on a slight lean) and it has rocks on the hill, make the vehicle lean back so all the weight transfers to the back of the vehicle, once the front wheel is over the rock, lean forward so then all the weight transfers to the front of the vehicle.
