Fuel should be used to get turbo boosts while having enough to complete the level. Plan your actions one step at a time, especially when you have to limit your turbo count. Search for boost pads that are reachable and run over them, however do not go too out of your way. If you find a chain of at least three boosts in a row, find a way to reach them.
