If you encounter a crust you cannot penetrate, pick up some dynamite. This can be used to take out such tough surfaces, enabling you to them dig down to reach the treasures below.
Objectives
Keep an eye on your objectives by hitting the 'O' key near the bottom of the screen. This will let you know what your current goal is, your targets changing as each level progresses.
