When trying to shave seconds off your lap time, adopt a clean racing line; this will enable you to get in and out of corners as quickly as possible.

If you are tired of having to keep your finger on the "gas" button then you can switch auto-accelerate on in the preferences menu, but be warned that it makes cornering trickier, you have to be very quick and accurate with the brake.

When you are facing a track with long straights, make sure you boost your car's top speed. If you are on a twisty-turny track, enhance your acceleration and handling instead.
