To get all three stars on a level, you have to throw the basketball only once, and you have to collect every single one of the Urthbling on the level with that ball. If you are having a hard time getting more than one, especially on a stage where it seems like you have to knock something out of the way, think around the problem. Look for a more outside-the-box method of getting the ball into the hoop.
