When offered, take the sword and shield, but leave the armor in the "Tomb of the King" level. Exit to the main menu then sell the sword and shield to the vendor for about 1,500. Resume the game from the last checkpoint, just before obtaining the items. The sword and shield will have respawned because you did not pick up the armor. Repeat the process as many times as desired, then collect the armor to continue.
