Do not use boosts during the fights with the first five Bosses. Save them for tougher matches that come afterwards.
Coins
You can earn gold coins by winning single player games in the Story mode, winning multiplayer games in the "Events" menu, earning a high rank in multiplayer events, participating in various events (for example, reaching 19 fights for 300 gold coins). Getting Perfect Start, Perfect Speed, or Perfect Hit bonus will earn 30 bonus coins each. Although you must spend Gems to participate, the Echelon tournament has several prizes that include coins. You can earn the most coins while training if it is done under the Expert difficulty setting.
Critical hits
Get a perfect start as well as the maximum speed and maximum power bonus by getting a perfect hit. This will result in an increase in all your stats, making it easier to win the joust.
Gems
Some single player missions will reward you with gems for completion. Complete the Hero's Challenge events in one of the the top three places to get a gem reward. If you spend 10 gems to enter the Echelon Event, you can get 40 gems back by winning it, or 20 gems for second place (defeating three knights).
Instant upgrades
When upgrading your armor, helmet, lance and horse, you normally must wait for it to finish. Advance the time on your device by a small amount, return it to its correct value, and repeat the process until you upgrade is complete. If you set the time too far ahead this trick will not work.
Perfect hit
Aim the lance so it hits the inside of the center of the circle. Hitting outside the circle will result in a great or worse rating depending on the distance from the perimeter. Because both the target and your lance will be moving, you must have proper rhythm and keep the direction of your movement accurate.
Perfect start
Tap an instant before "Go" appears and while the "I" is still displayed. Tap when the circular bar hits the green area to boost your speed. You must stop the arrow on the green area of the half-circle speed bar, instead of the yellow or grey sections. Your horse will rear its hind legs to confirm that it was done correctly. Get many perfects or a few greats to earn a high speed bonus.
Quick Royal Seals
Instead of waiting for your Royal Seals to fill over time, advance the time of your device. After all your Royal Seals are full, set the time back to the correct value. Note: This will not work if you advance more than ten to fifteen minutes ahead.
Royal Seals
After spending one or two Royal Seals in single player missions, go to the tournament and spend all your Social Seals. When done, return to the single player missions and use the Royal Seals that accumulated during the tournament. By alternating between the two, you can give each type of seal time to accumulate.
Social Seals
Connect to Facebook and add friends who are also active in the game. You can send each other Social Seals.
Speed
Your horse has a load limit. Whenever possible, purchase the more expensive lighter equipment.
Upgrades
Upgrade your Helms and Armor first to increase your defense. Helms in particular will convey a very noticeable increase to your defense. Defense is independent from active game play and will get you a win in that category without effort as long as it is higher than your opponent's. Then, work on upgrading your Horse to increase its speed. You will get a coin bonus to getting to top speed. Finally, upgrade your Lance for more power. Each item can be upgraded a maximum of six times.
