The Pirate Arena matches you up with other players. You will need an upgraded ship and systems to perform well. You can also participate in daily missions that change each day. These missions will reward you with power cells, the game's premium currency.
Power cells
Complete Pirate Arena missions. They are similar to tavern missions, except they have to be completed inside the Pirate Arena. They are slightly more difficult because you may have to win matches in the Pirate Arena, which will be dependent on the strength of your ship. If you win, you will receive power cells as a reward.
Ships
Complete the third storyline missions to get the opportunity to purchase a new ship. However, you may want to hold off and instead stay with the Raven. You can upgrade the Raven to make it more powerful, which will cost less bolts over time.
Support systems
Things such as your shield and flares have to be refilled after they are out of energy. Do this by activating them. After getting enough energy, select the system to refill it.
Weapon rage
The red rage bar next to your weapon selection refills slowly. When it is activated, it begins to drain. During this time all of your weapons will do increased damage and will always critically hit. Weapon rage will begin to fill again after it is depleted. Use it as soon as it is ready.
