In the speed-run levels it sometimes makes sense to ram through an obstacle if the pattern suggests there'll be Zs directly behind it.

Bosses attack in a pattern and have identifiable weakspots. But look out for their henchmen dudes as well.

Careful when launching your best weapons that there aren't obstacles in the way that will detonate them prematurely.
