Run and avoid obstacles while killing Decepticons. Your character has three different attacks: a ranged attack using the specific gun that your Dinobot has equipped; a melee weapon that can do short range attacks; and transforming from a car back into a robot to unleash powerful melee attack. Melee attacks will always be stronger than ranged attacks. Damage enemies while they are in the car form. They cannot harm you while in this form. You can either shoot them or transform into a vehicle and ram them to start a melee attack. Smaller Autobots can change into vehicle form to drive beneath some enemy attacks. Equip colossal melee weapons to increase damage from hand to hand combat. Using swords, hammers, axes, etc. can result in massive damage. Equip ranged weapons (fire rifles, cannons, rockets, etc.) to damage enemies at a distance. You can fire a ranged weapon to help lower an enemy's health even in missions where the objective is to use your melee weapon, however make sure to finish them off with a melee weapon so it will count.
Autobot abilities
Each Autobot has a special ability specific to that character.
Bumblebee: Has a chance to collect more than one Energon Pack from a single enemy.
Crosshairs: Proficient with ranged weapons.
Drift and Grimlock: Earn 50% more Energon Shards after each mission.
Hound: Has increased defense.
Optimus Prime: Has increased melee power and critical hit chance.

Characters
There are six different Autobots that can be played, including Optimus Prime, Hound, Drift, Grimlock, Bumblebee and Crosshairs. Each character has different ratings in Hit Points, Melee and Ranged. You will start out with only Bumblebee and can unlock most of the other characters by earning stars for completing missions. Each new character costs ten stars. You can increase an Autobot's stats with new gear. Gear can be purchased with Cargo Packs, which in turn can be purchased with Energon Packs. The most common Energon is Blue. Green Energon Packs are uncommon, and Rare Energon Packs are rare. The rarer the packs used to buy Cargo, the better the gear. Gear can also be upgraded and leveled up with Energon Shards that are given as mission rewards.
Defense
Use your car form to avoid most of the Decepticon attacks. For example, the continuous laser and energy shots will not hit you while in car form. Use a well timed dodge mixed with a melee attack when facing a charging melee enemy. The Scout may look small but he is powerful. Watch out for his charging melee attack. The Gunner fires powerful ranged weapons at you as you battle your way down field. Avoid his attacks and move in close for the kill. The Beamer fires a concentrated energy weapon. Do not cross his beam. Multiple Beamers are a dangerous situation. The Miner carries explosive mines. When he drops them in your path, jump to avoid them. If you let them remain for too long they will lay down a group of devastating mines. In some missions, Lockdown will appear. Avoid his rifle and laser sight before moving in for a crushing blow.
Equipment
Equip protective gear to increase the HP of your Autobots. Rarer gear may have bonus modifiers that could increase XP or Energon Shards earned. Equip appropriate gear when you switch between characters. Character specific gear is always the most effective (for example, Optimus Prime's Transmetal Claymore). Equipment has five rarity levels: Common (CO), Uncommon (UC), Rare (RA), Epic (EP), and Legendary (LG). The rarer the gear, the better the stats and unique benefits. When you open the Space Bridge, a new item will be transported to you. The rarity of the gear may vary.
Grimlock
Collect 30 Synergons by completing specific missions.

Various Strategies
You have a limited amount of time to complete each level. Remaining in vehicle form allows you to move faster through the level. Driving forward will lure more Decepticons to follow you. Once there are too many to handle, transform back into a robot and destroy them. Tap the icon that resembles three hexagons inside a bigger hexagon at the top right of the screen to open the main menu. Access your inbox daily to collect rewards. Obstacles will slow you down and may take your Autobot out of vehicle form. Avoid them if possible. Some Autobots are so powerful enough to crash through obstacles without slowing down or changing out of vehicle form. For score mission objectives, make sure you defeat all the enemies and pick up all the Energon Packs. Keep ranged enemies in front of you. If you pass them, they do not always return to the battlefield. Synergon is used to acquire new high-end items from the store. It may also be used to continue after a mission failure. A small amount of your Energon reserves is depleted when starting a mission. Energon will recharge automatically over time. Complete missions to earn Energon Shards. The Energon Shards you earn may be used to upgrade the strength of your gear. You can fully refill your Energon with Energon Recharge items. When an enemy is defeated, it will drop an Energon Pack. Pick these up to complete objectives and earn bigger mission rewards.
Ranks
Each level has three objectives that will give you up to a total of a 3-star rank when completed. Repeat previously completed levels to get better ranks. This becomes easier as you gain upgrades.
Upgrades
New equipment is purchased with Blue Energon and Green Energon packs obtained during missions. Use Energon shards collected from battles to upgrade the equipment you own. Upgrading ranged or melee attacks will increase their power, while upgrading your armor will increase your hit points and allow more damage to be taken. Sell outclassed items to get Crystals for future upgrades. Focus first on upgrades for your ranged weapon. Killing your enemies from a distance is very helpful. Although ranged attacks are not as powerful as melee attacks, they are lower risk. After getting a decent upgrade with your ranged attack, consider upgrading your melee attack upgrade, and then a health upgrade. When a new Transformer becomes available, you do not need to spend anything on new equipment. You can unequip existing upgraded equipment and transfer it to the new Transformer. Sell equipment that you do not need, then use the Energon Shards to upgrade the gear you can use. Each mission has three different objectives. For every mission objective completed, you will earn a star. Stars may be combined with your Autobots to unlock and upgrade them. When an Autobot is upgraded, its stats will go up and their max level will be increased. Some Autobots require special items for upgrading in addition to Stars. Collect these items by completing certain mission objectives.
