Go to the alien crash site and pick up the weapon that is found there. Collect all the ammunition you can for it. Go to the town named Old Olmeny found northwest of the mine field. The town has a lot of Death Claws. Make sure you are good on health. The weapon obtained from the alien crash site will kill the Death Claws in one or two shots.
