Either play the game on March 12 or set your system clock to it for unusual effects, which include hearing the creators hum the Apogee theme when the logo appears, and hilarious enemy monkeys, cows, etc during the game. When you exit the game, you will hear Bobby Prince, one of the Raptor's creators, giving his best monkey impression.
Cheat mode
Type SET S_HOST=CASTLE at the DOS prompt to set the corresponding environment variable before running the game. This activates unlimited lives and all weapons for a few levels.
Deathray and health
Press [Backspace] during game play in the registered version to restore your health and get a deathray.
Fight animals
Set the system date to March 12th, May 16th, August 28th, or October 2nd to fight cows, monkeys and other animals. Alternatively, turn on all the switches at the bottom of the episode selecttion screen and darken the button. A sound will confirm correct code entry.
God mode
Press G + X + M + P during game play.
Gradually refill health/shields
An easy way to refill your health or shields slowly is to set your plane to the left or right side, then let it stand there. Your health will go up steadily and your plane won't take any damage. This will not work if you start shooting.
Infinite money
Fly to a level that has an item fairly near the beginning(I used Bravo sector, wave six. It has those high-priced dumbfire missles.) Get the item, and hit escape. Abort the mission. All money you made in that particular mission will be lost, but you will still have the missles. Sell them at the shop for around $75000. Repeat this as many times as you like. Note: this doesn't work with items that give you lots of money in-game. All money from those will be lost when you abort.

More than 5 phase shields
You can only buy up to 5 Phase Shields at a time, but during a level, you might find a Phase Shield after destroying a Weapons Shed or Weapon Carrier, if you obtain it then you can have 6 or more Phase Shields, which is a very good bonus in later levels. Note: This only works with Phase Shields, not MegaBombs.
Raptor Death Ray cheat
Press Backspace during gameplay to lose all your cash and get a Death Ray gun. This cheat can be repeated endlessly.
Refill health
Push Backspace during gameplay to completely refill your health. This does not refill shields.

Skip level
First take enough damage so you start exploding. Then press backspace. Your ship should start going upwards as if you just beat the boss. NOTE: You will still lose all your money as well as getting a deathray.
