When playing as David, instead of creating the "usual weapons" like the spear or hammer, etc, why not go a little "old school" and combining an alcohol bottle, a newspaper and a lighter to make molotov cocktails (note: you will only get six cocktails at a time so if you want more, you're gonna have to make more!)
