Either press [Grab] or equip the Takedown Defense skill when playing a mode that allows skills to be equipped.

There are two methods to unlock Gargoyle:

1. Reach level 22 in multiplayer.
2. Beat both Jack and Leo's Red Side in the Campaign.

Hold the ball until the meter fills up, then throw it.

Big Combo Anarchy (Silver)	Defeat an enemy with a combo of 100 hits or longer. (Campaign Mode)
