Equip a sniper rifle and zoom in. While looking through the scope, press [Weapon Change] to switch to your other weapon. You will still be looking through the scope, but will be able to fire your other weapon as if it has your sniper rifle's scope attached to it. You could potentially get more precision out of a weapon such as the pistol.
