In order to keep your default inventory at the beginning of the game, like the Alucard Sword and Alucard Shield, reach the room where you meet Death for the first time, then walk back out or back dash out of the room. If done correctly, Death won't be there when you re-enter the room. Note: this glitch works differently from the original PS1 version.
