You need to enter atmopsphere of the three planetes (Earth, Mars, Alien) and the three moons (Earth-moon, Mars-moon, Alien-moon). You can speed up things by playing the three Easy Start maps, then you will only need to go on the three moons.

Easy start on Moon (contrary to the other poster it does work. Jump onto the moon, Walk for 1969 metres, do NOT sprint. I wedged a piece of card to hold the W key down and came back ten minutes later, achievement unlocked.

The Monolith cannot be found while playing on the Solar System map. You can, however play the Easy Start Mars map, take all Hydrogen possible and head to these GPS coordinates :
