Boosts

Save Boosts for later levels when things begin to get very difficult.

Bullets

Matching bullets will not charge your special attack meter. Bullet tokens appear along with the regular game tokens. If you match three bullets, all your hunters will attack at once. Their special skill meters will not charge after making the attack, however the high-powered assault is worth it.

Healing tokens

Many enemies will attack after one or two rounds of charge time. Do not save your healing tokens: Match them to charge up Val's med gun.

Matches

Although some of your squad members may more damage than others, try matching from the bottom. When the upper rows begin to drop down and new tiles appear it may result in extra matches that cause more damage.

Monster tokens

After creating monster token matches three times, the monster will automatically attack. Do not be too concerned about them. You can always use your squad members' super skills to get rid of some from the level.

Squad members

Some of them members (red and yellow) cause more damage, while others are meant for support and healing. However, they all can cause damage and attack monsters. Create a strategy and match tiles properly.

Each squad member has three different special attacks. Consider their effects and use them at the correct moment. The special attacks become available by matching tiles corresponding to the color of your character. Each time this is done, they will get extra energy which progresses towards unlocking their special attacks. The first special attack usually does damage and nothing else. You can opt to wait to completely fill the meter. Some special attacks are better than others.

It is usually not worth charging a hunters' special skill to level three. However a few hunters have high-level skills that are worth the time and effort needed to charge them. It is usually better to use lower-level skills often instead of waiting for higher-level skills to charge.

Hank is the default "Yellow hunter". His special skills are charged up by matching yellow tokens with a shield emblem. Hank's most useful skill is "orbital barrage," which is readied by matching enough yellow tokens to reach skill level three. Orbital barrage allows you to fire a laser that destroys a 9x9 grid of tokens.

Val's healing ability is important. Her level two skill is a Med Gun, which restores one hunter's health by 40% and removes status ailments such as poison.

Use Markov's level two skill, Lightning Gun, to delay enemy attacks. It damages all visible enemies. It also delays enemies' attacks by one turn.

Targeting

Squad members will automatically select a monster to attack, however you can manually direct them by tapping another monster. Consider how many turns each of them requires before charging, the damage they can inflict, and their current target before determining which monster is best taken out first.
