Police

Every time you crash into another car, you will lose speed and increase notoriety. More crashes will increase your chances of the police being alerted. Once your supervisor appears at the top of the screen to warn you, begin driving more carefully. If you crash again, the police will begin to chase you. If you get caught, your shift will end. Sometimes the police will start pursuing you for simply speeding. If this happens, try losing them with speed, but if this is not possible try weaving in between other cars to shake them off or force them to crash into other cars. If you are at the point where you cannot escape, simply boot or tow the police when you see you. If they have parking violations it still costs you, but it will not cost that much more than their ticket does.

Routes

Tap the grid at the bottom left corner to change your route manually. You can now drag your position around the map to lock in a desired route. If not set manually, the game will automatically map your route. However, the route it gives you is not efficient and usually circles you around the same block multiple times. If you have blocks with timed parking, it is much better to customize your route.

Scoring

You will begin score bonus points when your scooter reaches top speed. If you pull off tricks, you will add points to the bonus counter displayed at the top left. If you can execute another feat within the time limit, you will reset the combo meter to allow you to keep earning points. This includes avoiding a last second crash by passing a car and ticketing a car.

Serial parking offenders

Parking boots are used to catch serial parking offenders. These are people that have not paid any of their tickets and are worth a lot of points when caught. One of the most important ways to do this is by placing a parking boots on a car. It prevents it from escaping, which serial offenders will often try to do when you are near. To find them, display the DMV database and select the "Unpaid" category. The cars that are marked with a star are the serial parking offenders. If you choose to track them, they will be highlighted in orange during game play. Offer money to the random hobos to patrol a block for you. If a tracked serial parking offender parks in their block, they will notify you through an alert that appears at the top of the screen. If you build a school, you will eventually be able to hire girl scouts. They are more plentiful than hobos and will work longer.

Timed parking

Start with building the Shopping Mall, which features timed parking. Timed parking is slightly more troublesome than metered parking. Once these types of parking spots are available, bring time-tinted tickets. When first placed on a car, these tickets will be white. After fifteen minutes, the ticket will turn yellow. After thirty minutes they will turn red. Because they are small, you must look closely to find them. Depending on where the car is parked, you must ticket appropriately. Although it is more work for a single car, timed spaces can result in a lot of money if managed efficiently. Try to plan your route so that it returns to the timed parking spaces after fifteen or thirty minutes of game time have passed. If you wait too long to return, the offenders will leave.
